The joy of Kkolgap Festival hosted by the Seocheon-gun Fisheries Cooperative Fishing Village Heads' Association (Seocheon-gun Fishermen's Association) can be experienced every May at Janghang Port in Seocheon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Province. At the festival, visitors can enjoy only various types of fresh raw fish and check out tasting events held to promote the excellent seafood from Seocheon. They can even purchase seafood sourced from the local fisheries cooperatives including fresh seafood and dried seafood at affordable prices. There is even a waterside raw fish cafe where people can enjoy chewy raw fish, while taking in the scenic view of Geumgang River from Janghang Port. Seocheon and Janghang Port is now easy to get to! It used to take more than 2 hours to get to Seocheon from Daejeon, but with the opening of the Seocheon-Gongju Expressway, it only takes an hour. Drive about 10 km on the coastal road adjacent to the Geumgang River Estuary from the East Seocheon tollgate, visit the Janghang smelter, amusement park, Hansan Sinseong-ri reed field (filming location of the movie, "Joint Security Area"), and Hansan Mosi Center, and come to the festival to eat delicious food!
